Visiting our local libraries opens so many opportunities to build your child’s language, reading, communication, social and creative skills.
At Torfaen libraries you’ll find a great range of books for every age from baby through to young adult. Children can also use ICT facilities and come along to special activities and events. All our libraries offer homework support including free print outs within reasonable use.

For under 5's there are:
Rhymetime sessions - They’re fun and free and happen in all our Torfaen libraries. Please see Dewis for more information on the sessions.
Under 5s Story and Craft - Is fun and free and happens Cwmbran library. Please see Dewis for more information on the sessions.
What is there for my older child/ren?
Reading groups for children and young people aim to inspire young people to read adventurously, develop confidence in expressing their opinions - and have a good time reading and talking about books!
‘Chatterbooks’ clubs - for 7- 11 year olds and 11+ reading groups running in our libraries. Please see Dewis for more information on these sessions.
Lego Club at Cwmbran Library - a free Lego Club for children aged 5-11 years old. Please see Dewis for more information on these sessions.
For course you can go to your local library for many other reasons. Every library has a bright and welcoming children’s section with storybooks for all ages and information books to help with homework and leisure. Requests for items for under 16s are free and there are no overdue charges if you forget to bring your books back on time!
